Sports Authority of India (SAI), Delhi, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India invites applications for engagement of staff on a contract basis. The employment is initially for a period of two years extendable by one year. The details of the job description and responsibilities, etc. are given below.

1. Senior Research Fellow

Eligibility Criteria
  • B.Tech/MBA/Post Graduation in Sports Management/Science.
  • 3 years of experience in a relevant field like analytics, research, and sports management.
  • Excellent knowledge of office software like MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint etc. and research tools.
  • Understanding of results and competition formats in Olympic sports.
  • Candidates who have participated in nationals and international level in Olympic Sports Disciplines would be given preference.
Roles and Responsibilities

Sr. Research Team will undertake the following tasks: –

  • Assist in the identification of medal prospects for the Olympics by scanning national and international performance.
  • Developing performance profiles of the prospective medal hope.
  • Assist in performance reviews of the selected athletes vis-à-vis the potential competitors and their probability of reaching a podium at the Olympics.
  • To meet and interact with the selected athletes, chief coaches and officials of NSFs and support staff of athletes on a regular basis.
  • Measure the actual demands of what it takes to win and where our athletes stand through the development of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each sport.

2. Athlete Relationship Officer

Eligiblity

  • Persons having a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject (Sports, Law, Management) or technical qualifications like B. Tech., MBA or equivalent qualification in relevant field are eligible.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of IT, Software applications and Social Media.
  • Minimum of one year of Work Experience relevant to the job description. Preference will be given to persons with work experience in the relevant field.
  • Candidates who have participated in nationals and international level in Olympic Sports Disciplines would be given preference.
    • Roles and Responsibilities

    Athlete Relationship Officer will undertake the following tasks: –

    • One-stop service point for the athletes assigned to him/her.
    • Ensure the processing of athlete’s proposal in SAI from start to end.
    • Communicate with and provide support to the athlete in person when needed.

    3. Research Officer

    Eligiblity
    • Technical qualifications like B.Tech, B.E. or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (Sports, Law, Management, Operational Research)
    • 1 year of experience/PG Degree in a relevant field like analytics, research, and sports management/ administration.
    • Excellent knowledge of office software like MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint etc. and research tools.
    • Good understanding on results and competition formats in Olympic sports.
    • An applicant with research experience, published papers and post qualification experience in the relevant field would be preferred.
    • Candidates who have participated in nationals and international level in Olympic Sports Disciplines would be given preference.
    Roles and Responsibilities

    Research Officer will undertake the following tasks: –

    • Assist the Senior Research Officers to identify potential sports persons in different sports discipline, to make an extensive study & research of the performance at International/National/State levels.
    • To give the detailed analysis of athletes like past performance, future potential, & make the comparative study/analysis with performance of sportspersons in other countries & review the performance after every International Competition.
    • To make a detailed analysis of the Proposal/assistance applied by the athlete.
    • Provide a detailed analysis of support staff such as Coach, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Strength & Conditioning Expert etc. V. Prepare a comprehensive database for the athletes.

    Tenure

    The contractual engagement will be initially for a period of two years extendable by one year on the basis of satisfactory performance.

    Age Limit

    The upper age limit for the respective posts is as follows: –

    • Senior Research officer: 40 years
    • Research Officer: 35 years
    • Athlete Relationship Officer: 35 years

    Remuneration

    • Senior Research Officer: Rs. 80,000 -1 Lac/ Month
    • Athlete Relationship Officer:  Rs. 45,000-60,000/Month
    • Research Officer: Rs. 45,000-60,000/Month
