Assistant Manager Legal

Job Description:

  • Evaluate legal notices received, frame the company viewpoint on the same (together with internal stakeholders) and respond to the counterparty accordingly
  • Assisting in taking such necessary actions including legal proceedings, negotiation or arbitration to enable time and cost-effective recovery of dues from the customers and suppliers
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various contracts entered into by the Company on a day to day basis with various stakeholders 
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating lease agreements, service agreements, loan agreements and such other agreements, arrangements or terms and conditions as required to assist the Company
  • Ensuring that the Company is compliant with all applicable law and updating the management team and the Board (if required) of the changes in applicable law.
  • Helping the company manage compliance with local statutory requirements and handle disputes (including labor / employment matters)
  • Providing legal advice on matters relating to corporate compliance, HR & employment and drafting and negotiating contracts, digital wallets, corporate, currency controls, foreign exchange, litigation and intellectual property for the company’s business operations in India and in Singapore

Experience and Qualifications:

UG Degree with Major in Law from any reputable university

3-5 years of experience working in a reputable law firm or with a reputable lawyer/lawyer’s chamber

The applicant must possess:

  • Ability to work independently
  • An understanding of the financial legal and regulatory environment in India and in Singapore
  • Specific knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to corporate governance & employment-related laws
  • An understanding of and ability to develop and implement policies and monitoring programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams as well as business unit leaders
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and ability to foster/manage relationships across multiple departments
  • Skill in focusing on desired results, clarifying next steps, and the ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines, address risk and achieve desired results
