About the University:
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) occupies a
unique position amongst universities and institutions of higher learning in the
country. It was established in 1920 and evolved out of the Mohammedan
Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College) was set up in 1877 by the great
visionary and social reformer, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. The Aligarh Muslim
University is the realization of a vision which was broad, far-reaching and
realistic. The Faculty of Law Faculty of Law is one of the oldest Law Faculty
in India and has produced illustrious alumni serving both at the Bench and the
Bar, including the former Supreme Court Judges such as Mr. Justice Baharul Islam,
Mr. Justice Murtaza Fazle Ali, Mr. Justice R. P. Sethi.
About the
Quiz:
The All India Independence Day Quiz Competition is organized
by the Faculty of Law, AMU under the aegis of Law Society with a view to raise
awareness amongst the youth about Constitutional Law, Constitutional History
and General History related to the Indian Independence Movement. The Competition
shall be concluded in two rounds i.e. Preliminary
Round and the Main Round
Important Dates:
1)
Preliminary Round: 14 August 2020
2) The date and
time for the Main Round will be
announced after the declaration of results for the Preliminary Round.
Subject Focus:
The theme of the quiz would be Independence Day. The
subjects from which the questions will be asked from the participants will be:
1.
Constitutional Law
2. Constitutional History
3. History related to the Indian Independence
Movement.
General Conduct of the Competition:
1) The Preliminary Round will be conducted on an online platform, the details of which shall be mailed to the participants upon registration.
2) Participants will be required to fill a Google Form; with their details which will stay functional two hours before the starting of preliminary rounds.
3) The first round will have 50 questions with no negative marking and the total time allotted will be of 15 minutes. The platform will go live for a duration of 1 hour at the fixed time, allotted to the participants, to login to play the quiz.
4) The main round shall be conducted through video conferencing. The six students who qualify the preliminary round with the highest score will only participate. The participants of the main round will be provided with an email containing the schedule and other details of the quiz. Although the rules will be elaborated to the participants 30 minutes prior to the conduct of the competition.
Eligibility:
Any Student perusing undergraduate course from a UGC
recognized institution
Note:
1. Any participant found
guilty of cheating, or using any means that aids them unfairly in any way, he
or she shall be disqualified with immediate effect and shall also not be
entitled to receive the Certificate of Participation.
2. All decisions regarding the interpretation and
implementation of these rules shall be taken by the organizing committee and
will be binding upon all the participants.

There is NO registration fee for this event.

Note: The winners will be provided with a certificate
certifying the position that they scored in competition and top six students
will be awarded the participation certificate along with a certificate
certifying that they had qualified the Second Round.
