NRC Is Final: Assam Foreigner’s Tribunal 

  • As of now, the Registrar General of India has not yet issued a notification on Assam’s National Register of Citizens (NRC) to make it a legal document 

  • But, the Assam Foreigner’s Tribunal recorded the NRC as the “final NRC” while declaring a man named Bikram Singha of Jamira Village.

Delhi High Court Dismisses The Bail Plea Of IAF Officer

  • The IAF Officer faked his name as Aman Saini on the matrimonial site is facing charges of criminal intimidation and rape where it is levelled by a woman who met him through the online site.

  • The Court opined that the “Investigation is necessary to find out whether he has lured other women also”.


Stoppage To Permit The Entry Of Students To Any Educational Institutions: Delhi HC


  • An appeal has been filed by 5 students who were granted admission in 2016 by L.N. Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Bhopal without undergoing the centralised counselling conducted by the Department of Medical Examination. 

  • The Medical Council of India issued the letters of discharge to the five students.

  • The five students moved the High Court against this discharge letter. 

  • The Court stated that, “It is high time that such backdoor entries in educational institutions, including medical colleges, should stop. Lakhs of students all over the country work hard and toil to secure admissions to educational institutions on the basis of their merit”.

Supreme Court Seeks Assistance Of The Central Government On A Plea-seeking Door-to-door And Priority Vaccination Against Covid-19 For Differently-abled Persons

  • A plea was raised by an NGO Evara Foundation that the persons with disabilities are facing huge difficulties in getting vaccinated.

  • Section 3 of the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 mandates that the appropriate government shall take necessary steps to ensure reasonable accommodation for the persons with disabilities”.

  • The Court made a remark that, “If we tell the State, it will take 2 months. Lets’ see what the Centre does”.

Refusal Of Bail By Special CBI Court To Daughters And Wife Of Rana Kapoor – YES Bank Scam

  • A bail application was made by the wife and daughters of Rana Kapoor who is the founder of Yes Bank in the corruption cases related to DHFL (Dewan Housing Financial Limited)

  • The Bail application was rejected as they showed their complicity with the other accused.

  • The nature and gravity of the offence committee by them involves a wrongful loss to the huge public money of Rs.4,000 crores.

  • The Court held that, “The applicants were involved in the grave offence affecting the economy of the country and continue to reap the benefits of the crime committed by them, do not deserve any indulgence and any sympathy to them being the women or mother of small kids”.

Supreme Court Seeks Assistance Of The Central Government On A Plea-seeking COVID-19 Vaccination Of Pregnant And Lactating Women

  • The Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) sought the inclusion of pregnant and lactating women in the category of persons eligible to take Covid-19 vaccine.

  • The crux of the petition is that “denial of vaccination to pregnant and lactating women amounts to a denial of access to maternal health which is a threat to the right of life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, 1950”.


Supreme Court Seeks Assistance Of The Central Government And 2 Others On A Plea-challenging The Last Minute Changes To The Syllabus For The NEET PG SS Exam, 2021


  • A 41 PG Qualified Doctors challenged the last minute changes in the syllabus of the exam.

  • As per the revised syllabus, all the questions are from general medicine.

  • The Court stated that, “The new pattern will have 100 questions from the area of general medicines which would be advantageous for the students who are in general medicine”.

Obligations imposed on Investors in Model BITs (Bilateral Investment Treaties) 

  • The UN recent report provides India's ongoing BITs reforms. 

  • The reforms impose obligations on the Investors but not on the TNCs. 

  • It also includes foreign investors to protect human rights and to promote public health.
