With respect to news reports in certain sections of the media regarding Rohingya illegal foreigners, it is clarified that Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has not given any directions to provide EWS flats to Rohingya illegal migrants at Bakkarwala in New Delhi.
Government of Delhi proposed to shift the Rohingyas to a new location.

CCPA penalises Flipkart for selling sub-standard Pressure Cookers to consumers; to pay penalty of ₹ 1 Lakh (AUG 17,2022)
Headed by Chief Commissioner Mrs. Nidhi Khare, the CCPA has directed Flipkart to notify consumers of all 598 pressure cookers sold on its platform, recall the pressure cookers and reimburse their prices to the consumers and submit a compliance report of the same within 45 days.

Supreme Court asks Centre to take proactive steps with FIFA to lift AIFF suspension (AUG 17, 2022)
FIFA, the apex football body on Tuesday announced that it has decided to suspend the All India Football Federation (AIFF) with immediate effect and the decision was taken unanimously by the Bureau of the FIFA Council. The decision has been taken due to “undue influence from third parties”, which constitutes a serious violation of the FIFA Statutes.
Senior advocate Rahul Mehra, the petitioner in the main case, told the bench that the entire event has been orchestrated by the former AIFF President Praful Patel, who was ousted after the Supreme Court’s orders.

CBIC revises guidelines on arrest, prosecution for Customs violations (AUG 17, 2022)
According to the indirect tax body’s circulars, outright smuggling of high-value goods such as precious metals like gold and unauthorised import of goods — where market value exceeds Rs 50 lakh — could trigger prosecution and arrest.
Meanwhile, cases involving duty evasion and mis-declaration of goods worth Rs 2 crore or above will also face similar action.

Trump is struggling to find good lawyers who are still willing to represent him: WaPo report (AUG 17, 2022)
Trump is facing several major legal challenges this year, including an investigation in New York into whether the Trump Organization violated banking, insurance, and tax laws and whether it engaged in financial fraud. Trump pleaded the fifth more than 440 times during his deposition in the case.
Trump could also be facing potential criminal charges following an investigation from the Department of Justice into whether he mishandled confidential documents.
Trump is currently represented by Trusty and Corcoran — as well as Alina Habba, a New Jersey parking garage lawyer, and former One America News anchor Christina Bobb.
