Disclosure requirement for Asset Management Companies (AMCs) (AUG 25, 2022)

  • It has been decided that AMCs shall ensure scheme wise disclosure of investments, as on the last day of each quarter. 
  • Disclosure of Investment shall include ISIN wise value of investment and value as percentage of AUM of scheme. 
  • Such disclosure shall be made on the websites of respective AMCs and on the website of AMFI, within one month from the close of each quarter.

This circular is issued in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 11 (1) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act 1992, read with the provision of Regulation 77 of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulation, 1996.

DELHI HIGH COURT 

Delhi high court dismisses plea against probe into WhatsApp’s privacy policy (AUG 25, 2022)

The CCI initiated proceedings on its own over the privacy policy in March 2021 and ordered an inquiry. The single bench judge upheld the order, promoting WhatsApp and Facebook to challenge it.

The company pushed back the deadline for the implementation of the policy issued in January last year. The policy provided for sharing some data with WhatsApp’s parent company Facebook.

Tinder, Grindr Parent Company, Match Sues Apple In India For Overcharging In-App Purchases (AUG 25, 2022)

The parent company of popular dating apps like Tinder and Grindr, Match has reportedly filed an antitrust suit against Apple in India, to challenge its levying of the mandatory 30 percent commission.

As seen in a legal filing by Reuters, the company is accusing the Cupertino giant of ‘monopolistic conduct’ that is forcing devs to pay a massive chunk of their earnings in the form of commissions for every in-app purchase made by the user on the Apple platform.
