India International Trade Fair 2022 (NOV 13,2022)
An important mandate for SEBI is the spreading of investor awareness and investor education. As part of this endeavour, SEBI is setting up a Pavilion 'BHARAT KA SHARE BAZAAR' at the 41st India International Trade Fair (IITF- 2022) from 14th -27th November 2022 in New Delhi. Along with SEBI, other Market Infrastructure Institutions and Industry Associations viz., NSE, BSE, NSDL, CDSL, AMFI, NCDEX, MCX, CPAI and ANMI are also participating.
The theme of the event for this year is ‘NIVESH KA AMRITKAL’.

SUPREME COURT
Supreme Court dismisses SEBI's review petition against Reliance Industries (NOV 14, 2022)
The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) by a 2:1 majority opinion, seeking a review of its August 5 judgment, which directed the market regulator to share certain documents with Reliance Industries (RIL).
In another development connected with the case earlier, the Supreme Court had also issued a contempt notice to SEBI on RIL's plea alleging non-compliance of court's August 5 order, which directed the market regulator to provide access to certain documents to the company.

India will need to invest $ 840 billion over the next 15 years into urban infrastructure: World Bank Report (NOV 14, 2022)
The report, titled "Financing India`s Infrastructure Needs: Constraints to Commercial Financing and Prospects for Policy Action" underlined the urgent need to leverage more private and commercial investments to meet emerging financial gaps. By 2036, 600 million people will be living in urban cities in India, representing 40 per cent of the population.
Currently, the central and state governments finance over 75 per cent of city infrastructure, while urban local bodies finance 15 per cent through their own surplus revenues. Only 5 per cent of the infrastructure needs of Indian cities are currently being financed through private sources.
