Concept Note
Law science and technology have a complicated relationship. With law often playing catch up to ever-changing technology, the study of how law interacts with science and technology is more critical than ever before. Law is a tool to regulate science and technology, it is also one of the important tools for the ethical ramifications of scientific study and contemporary technologies. According to Justice Stephen Breyer, scientific considerations increasingly pervade the law. As Science is a systematic approach for collecting, organising, and evaluating information about the universe whereas law is a set of rules which society must obey, it also provides rules for the social institution to govern behaviour and also enforced with punishments. Therefore, with the advancement of scientific and technical developments, law, and science became interconnected. There are numbers of laws regulating the influence of science and technology. Moreover, in the technological era, the government has enacted rules and regulations to deal with various types of cybercrimes. The law is established to limit the positive, negative, and ethical effects of science and technology. Whereas the court system aims to give remedies to each affected by negative scientific and technical breakthroughs, including disgruntled parties. On the other side, science has developed modern technological tools such as polygraph exams, the collecting of evidence, and electronic recordings which may be used in court. This Conference law, science, and technology aim to examine how law and science intersect and how our legal system must respond to the challenges caused by the effect of technology on society. This conference will act as a platform for professionals, academicians and students to come together and discuss the interdisciplinary aspects of law, science and technology and discuss the challenges and solutions.
