On 21.09.2024 i.e., Saturday, the Centre notified the appointment of Chief Justices in Eight High Courts i.e., the High Court of Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Madras (Tamil Nadu) and Jharkhand. This appointment was in furtherance of the amendment made by the Supreme Court Collegium on 17.09.2024 i.e., Tuesday of some of its recommendation made on 11.07.2024.

Vide this Notification, 

  1. Hon'ble Mr. Justice K.R. Shriram of the Bombay High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court;
  2. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Nitin Madhukar Jamdar of the Bombay High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court;
  3. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Manmohan, acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, has been appointed as its Chief Justice;
  4. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajiv Shakdher of the Delhi High Court has been elevated as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court;
  5. Hon'ble Mr. Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, the current Chief Justice of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, has been transferred and appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court;
  6. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Suresh Kumar Kait has been elevated as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court;
  7. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Tashi Rabstan of the Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has been made its Chief Justice;
  8. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Indra Prasanna Mukerji of the Calcutta High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court.
