About the Journal
The Journal of Law and Social Sciences (HNLU JLSS), published by Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, invites submissions for its forthcoming Volume XI, Issues I & II, 2025. We welcome contributions from academicians, legal scholars, practising lawyers, research scholars, and domain experts. HNLU JLSS is dedicated to promoting quality research and fostering discussions on contemporary legal and socio-political issues.
Submission Category
- Articles: 5000–10,000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
- Essays: 3000–5000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
- Case Notes and Legislative Commentaries: 2000–7000 words (inclusive of footnotes)
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract: Each manuscript must include an abstract of no more than 250 words and a minimum of 7-10 keywords (inclusive of the word count).
- One Author-One Manuscript: One author can submit only one manuscript. In case of multiple submissions, the Editorial Board would have the discretion to either drop it or choose the relevant one.
- Co-Authorship: Up to two authors are allowed per submission.
- One Author: one submission: One author can submit only one manuscript (individual or with a co-author.)
Formatting
- Font: Times New Roman, size 12 (main text) & size 10 (footnotes).
- Line Spacing: 1.5 (main text) and 1.0 (footnotes).
- Use footnotes for citations conforming to the latest edition of The Bluebook.
- Headings and sub-headings should be in bold and numbered as 1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3
- All paragraphs after headings and sub-headings must start from the margin without any Tab. Subsequent paragraphs must start with Tabs.
- All caps must be avoided.

- File naming format: <Author Name>_<Title of Submission> (e.g., Amit_Kumar_Criminal_Justice_System).
- Last Date for Submission: April 15, 2025.
Public Policy
- Submissions must be original and unpublished. Plagiarised content or works with copyright issues will be rejected.
- By submitting, authors grant HNLU exclusive copyright.
- Selected submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
- After submission to HNLU JLSS, if any author wishes to withdraw or publish the manuscript in another publication, the author must inform press@hnlu.ac.in before the final acceptance mail. No request for withdrawal will be entertained after the final acceptance.
